Tennis: Broncs sweep Powell

SHERIDAN — The Broncs tennis team crushed Powell Friday, 5-0, bringing the team’s overall record to 3-4, 3-2 in conference.

Coaches said the only struggle was at No. 2 doubles, where Lachlan Brennan and Tristen Gamble dropped the first set to Powell, then came back to win the second and third sets.

The boys next match will be against Cody today at Sheridan High School beginning at 9 a.m. Regional tennis will begin next weekend in Casper and state will follow in Gillette.

The Lady Broncs had a less successful night, falling to Powell 3-2.

Julia Fenn and Katelynn Brooks won in the singles matchups.

Coaches said the doubles teams are struggling a bit and need to put away more shots at the net.

All three Lady Broncs doubles teams lost Friday night.

The Lady Broncs will face Cody today, with the match starting at 9 a.m.
