Lady Eagles win in 3 at Moorcroft
SHERIDAN — The Lady Eagles volleyball team is starting to find their stride, coach Michelle Nielsen said Friday night after a win at Moorcroft.
Tongue River’s team won 25-11, 25-16, 25-9.
“Defensively they played so much better,” Nielsen said.
She added that the team came together Friday night in a way they hadn’t yet.
“It was really nice to see the changes that have been made in such a short time,” Nielsen added.
Courtney Sharp and Riley Logan each had 10 digs for the night and Erin Aksamit went 15 for 15 on serves.
For kills, Sharp added eight to the seven apiece contributed by Tara Simpson and Amanda Bole.
Allison Reed also helped out with 15 assists.
The Lady Eagles play at Thempolis today at 9 a.m.
Sheridan College drops two Friday
SHERIDAN — The Lady Generals volleyball team dropped two games Friday night, falling to Western Nebraska and Seward in Scottsbluff, Neb., and Torrington.
“We played well at times but overall we were really inconsistent,” coach Jennifer Weitzel said. “We didn’t take care of the ball like we normally do and we had a lot of unforced errors.”
To Western Nebraska, Sheridan College lost 25-20, 25-19 and 25-25. In their matchup against Seward, SC fell 25-21, 25-21 and 29-27.
Britney Titensor put up some big numbers for the Lady Generals with 10 kills against Western Nebraska and 11 against Seward.
SC will face Barton at noon at the WYO-BRASKA tournament in Scottsbluff today.
