Wolf Creek Wrangle scheduled for Saturday
SHERIDAN — The annual Wolf Creek Wrangle, a run/hike event benefiting Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Bighorns, will be Saturday at Eatons’ Ranch in Wolf.
Join in a half marathon for $55, a 10K run/hike for $40 or the kids run at no charge.
Prizes will be given to the top three male and female finishers.
Registration starts at 8 a.m. and the race begins at 9 a.m. The race has a time limit of five hours.
A barbecue will be provided for participants after the race. Nonparticipants can join in the barbecue for a cost.
No dogs or strollers are allowed at the event.

Daughters of the Nile holding poker run for kids
SHERIDAN — Sahida Temple No. 86 Daughters of the Nile is holding a Ride for the Kids poker run and Oktoberfest Saturday.
Registration is at the Kalif Shrine Center from 11 a.m. to noon.
The blessing of the vehicles will be at 11:45 a.m. followed by the run.
All motorized vehicles are welcome.
The first poker hand is $15 and additional hands are $10. You can throw out a card and buy a new one for $5.
There will also be a 50/50 raffle with tickets priced at $1 each or six for $5.
The poker run route will start at the Kalif Shrine Center at 145 W. Loucks St. and then proceed to the Big Horn Smokehouse in Big Horn, Chuck Wagon Country Store and Ponderosa Pub in Story, Carousel Ice Cream Shop and Putt Putt Golf in Buffalo, The Ranch at Ucross and back to the Kalif Shrine Center.
After the ride there will be music and an Oktoberfest dinner starting at 5 p.m.
VOA hosting sixth annual Bandana Barn Dance
SHERIDAN — Volunteers of America Northern Rockies will hold its sixth annual fundraising Bandana Barn Dance Saturday from 5:30-10 p.m.
The event is $100 per ticket, which includes dinner, open bar, entertainment and dancing.
Bring some money for games and to spend at the auction.
The dance will be at the Winfield Ranch, 554 Highway 193 in Banner.

Proceeds from this event will benefit VOA’s veterans programs.
