SHERIDAN — Sheridan Police are searching for suspects who broke into Sheridan’s Hospital Pharmacy West and stole thousands of dollars of narcotic medication the night of Aug. 29.
Police Lt. Chris Dahmke said the burglary was discovered when pharmacy employees came to work the morning of Aug. 30 to find the drugs had been stolen. He said it appears the thieves got into the building via the roof and ceiling of a room near the drug storage area.
“Dollar-wise, the drugs had a pharmacy value of about $11,000 worth of medications, and the street value would be significantly higher, depending on where it’s sold,” he said.
Dahmke added that the police department is processing some evidence found at the crime scene, but suspects have not yet been identified.
“Right now, there are a lot of possibilities,” Dahmke said. “In the beginning, we consider every scenario.”
Dahmke said state and federal agencies in the region have been contacted regarding the heist, and the case remains under investigation.
