SHERIDAN — Three more Lady Broncs qualified for state at the Riverton Invite Saturday as the team finished second.
After a second place finish a week ago in Gillette, the Lady Broncs were just 23 points behind defending state champion Cheyenne Central, edging out Cheyenne East by one point in Riverton.
Divers Brielle Smiley, Whitney Migrants and Sara Von Krosigk each qualified for state, which brings the total for SHS to 11 girls in 31 events after two weeks of competition.
“Things are going great,” head coach Brent Moore wrote in an email. “We still can improve a lot of little things and will continue to up our training loads in the weeks to come.”
Sheridan’s 200-yard medley relay team was first. Emily Spiegelberg, Rachel Stevens, Mackenzie Dougherty and Laurel Fosnight finished in 2:05.11.
Gretchen Dougherty won the 200 breaststroke in 1:14.47.
Friday in Cody, Gretchen Dougherty, Mackenzie Dougherty, Payton Brilz and Emily Spiegelberg won the 200 medley relay, and Mackenzie Dougherty won the 200 individual medley.
Brilz, Spiegelberg and Stevens were second, third and fourth respectively in the 50 free.
