Local heritage comes to life in Big Horn

BIG HORN — Four wagons competed in the Big Horn Heritage Days chuckwagon cook-off over the Labor Day weekend.

Competitors represented Wyoming, Montana and Texas and the event was hosted by the Big Horn Smokehouse and Saloon.

Wagon and food judges for this year’s event were Trigg Marquiss, Kevin Legerski, Brett Hocking and Bill Garland.

The following were this year’s winners:

First place — Flying H

Beans

First place: Gold Creek Chuck

Bread

First place: Musselshell/Gold Creek (tie)

Potatoes

First place — Gold Creek Chuck

Dessert

First place — Gold Creek Chuck/Quarter Circle HO (tie)

Overall wagon

First place — Musselshell

Overall food

First place — Gold Creek Chuck
