SHERIDAN — The Broncs junior varsity football team beat Billings West 26-6 Saturday morning.
After seeing significant time on defense in the varsity’s 27-7 win the night before in Laramie, the Sheridan JV showed well Saturday in allowing just one score. Even then, the Golden Bears touchdown came when a turnover that granted them a first and goal on the two-yard line.
Otherwise, Sheridan had three interceptions, several tackles for loss and two goal line stands.
“Offensively, the Broncs looked strong on the ground as well as in the air, recording two long touchdown runs and two passing scores,” coach Marshall McEwen said. “Several members of the Broncs contributed in the run game. Minus a handful of false starts and various other penalties, this was a good start for a young team that looks forward to having a successful JV season.”
The Broncs JV plays Kelly Walsh at 11 a.m. Saturday in Casper.
