WEATHER FROM OUR SPONSORS
SHERIDAN — Sheridan High School’s varsity cross country team did not have enough runners to score as a team for the boys or girls Friday in Casper.
Coaching staff decided to hold back junior varsity runners to get experience before they compete at the varsity level.
Three boys ran and two girls ran for the Broncs, but teams need to have at least five for both divisions to post a team score.
No times were reported for the varsity boys runners but individually Taylor Bruso placed eighth, Taylor Wendtland placed 21st and Micah Sweeney took 29th.
For the girls, Jennifer Custis placed 36 with a time of 24:44 and Zoe Sherman came in 56th with a time of 27:02.
According to coaches, JV racers placed third overall. Kael Sweeny led Sheridan’s individual results, taking 12th with a time of 20:46. Freshman Jered McCafferty also did well, placing 16th out of 120 competitors in his first race.
Other JV boys top 20 finishers for the Broncs were Rion Szatkowski (21:04.00) and Zack Petersburg (21:17.00).
SHS girls for JV that finished in the top 20 were Megan Culver (25:58.03) and Mikaela Weeder (26:11.69).
