SHERIDAN — The Lady Generals soccer team managed one goal in two losses in Denver this week.
Sunday, the Sheridan College women’s soccer team played their first regular-time exhibition game, falling 3-1 to Johnson and Wales University.
“We definitely had some chances, our attack was pretty good,” head coach Stefan Skillman said, explaining that the Lady Generals fell behind 1-0 early. The team picked up intensity, and Macey Reid scored in the first three minutes of the second half off an assist from Stephany Sessions.
On Monday, the Lady Generals fell 3-0 to Colorado Christian — a team Skillman said will be one of the better teams they will play all year.
“They were a very good team and we tried to go after them, but they did a good job handling our pressure,” Skillman said.
He added that they continue to get good minutes from some of their reserve players, and that he was impressed with Daniel Keeler (Big Fork, Mont.) and Eliza Woolf (Pinedale) and their play in the final 40 minutes of the contest. Madi Moore (Gillette) played well in both games defensively at center back, he said.
“We still have a lot of work to do, but the girls did a good job and never gave up,” he said. “They worked hard and we went home with a good learning experience.”
The Lady Generals (0-2) play the University of Mary and Montana State University-Billings Saturday and Sunday.
