Robert Lavern Wulff August 11, 1942 – March 23, 2013

WulffRobert Lavern Wulff, 70, of Dayton, WY passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at his residence with his family by his side.

Robert was born August 11, 1942 in Miller, SD to Ethel (Hancock) and Clarence (Bullet) Wulff. He grew up in the Gann Valley area where he attended Busy Workers Grade School and on the Gann Valley High School. Robert worked various ranch jobs in several states. He went to Seybold Shoeing School in Mineral Wells, TX. In 1971 and 1972 he shod horses at Eaton’s Dude Ranch in Wolf, WY.

Robert married the love of his life, Berdie Von Thompson of Ekalaka, MT on July 3, 1972 in Chamberlain, SD. From this union they had four children, Bullet, Cody, Dusty and ShyAnn. They raised their family on his grandparents Fred and Marie Wulff’s homestead in Buffalo County, SD. This is where their life long dream of an indoor arena, as well as raising and breaking quarter horses developed. In 1986 the Wulff family moved to Dayton, WY where he continued his ranching way of life. Robert was employed at the NX Bar Ranch until his death.

Robert’s favorite thing was watching a Rodeo. During the NFR he always enjoyed watching the Etbauer brothers as we enjoyed watching him make the same ride in his chair. Later in life his greatest joy was watching his children and grandchildren rope and ride. Another pastime was a good game of cribbage, where he was known as “Honest Bob.”
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Kermit Wulff and his son, Bullet Wulff. He is survived by his wife, Berdie, a son Cody and both daughters, Dusty (Justin) Myers and Shy (Monte) Brug, grandchildren, Kennady and Tuck Myers, Jaydee Lou Brug and Chassidy Harmon. He is also survived by a brother Kenneth (Elaine) Wulff, a sister in law, Evelyn Wulff and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service for Robert will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Kane Funeral Home. A reception will follow at the Dayton Community Hall.
