Jackie Bly of Sheridan WY passed away March 11, 2013 at her Green Valley AZ home a few weeks after learning that she had cancer. She went peacefully and with family by her side.
Jackie was born in Big Timber MT to Bluferd W. and May M. Bly. She attended school in Big Timber graduating in 1958, attended Globe Business School in St. Paul and spent three years in the St. Paul MN area. She returned to Montana in 1961 and worked in Billings and Wyoming for several different oil companies until 1976 at which time she joined the real estate business in Sheridan. Obtaining her broker’s license and earning her GRI designation from the Wyoming Real Estate Institute gave her the opportunity in 1991 to open her own firm, Jackie Bly Real Estate in Sheridan.
Jackie loved animals and served on the board for the Sheridan Dog & Cat Shelter for several years. She was member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Always ready for something new she learned to play the banjo and made many new friends through this venture.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Alice Gavne, Gordon Gavne, niece Tammy Gavne, and nephew Tim Bly. She is survived by her brother David (Gail) Bly of Ben Wheeler TX, two sisters: Katrinka Bourne of Eau Claire WI, and Krista (George) Thorson of Kalispell MT plus numerous nieces and nephews.
As Jackie wished, cremation has taken place. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery, Big Timber MT at a later date. Memorials may be made to: Sheridan Dog & Cat Shelter, 325 Fort Rd. Sheridan WY 82801 or Crazy Mountain Museum, Big Timber MT 59011.
