SHERIDAN — Police have arrested two men in Sheridan on charges of manufacturing and distributing methamphetamine.
Brothers Joseph M. Reeson and Jonathan M. Reeson were taken into custody by the Northeast Enforcement Team Monday and charged with unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance – methamphetamine and delivery of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.
The subjects were arrested at their residence, a travel trailer, on the 1800 block of Skeels Street. A subsequent search of the home and vehicles on the property resulted in materials suspected to be used to manufacture the drug being seized.
Police also arrested Michele E. Mangan, the mother of the two men, Tuesday. Mangan was also staying on Skeels Street, but was apprehended at a local convenience store.
According to a press release from the NEET, the arrests are the result of an eight-month investigation into the group’s drug activity.
Louey Williams, NEET team leader, said the group did not have a large client base.
“From what I know of this group, they’re not big sellers,” he said.
Williams explained the lab equipment taken in the raid consisted of a “one pot” cooking setup, which entails combining necessary ingredients, including pseudoephedrine, and shaking the pot to cause the chemical reaction that forms methamphetamine.
Williams said each cooking cycle in the pot could yield approximately two grams of methamphetamine.
“They were not a big distributor,” he said, indicating it looks like they sold enough of the drug to maintain their own habits.
All three individuals were taken to the Sheridan County Detention Center pending charges from the county attorney’s office.
Aftermath of the meth lab was cleaned up by a hazardous material disposal company.
NEET was assisted in the execution of the arrests and crime scene processing by the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office and the Sheridan Fire Department.
