Janet Grace Halverson, 72, formerly known as Janet Grace Lindemann, passed away while living in Anchorage, Alaska.
Janet was born in Minot, North Dakota on March 4, 1941 to Clayton and Janet (Wiggins) Halverson. She attended Minot Public Schools, graduating in 1959. She was a foreign exchange student to Finland for a summer before her senior year and attended the University of North Dakota for one year.
Her children were the focus of her life. She enjoyed being involved in all of their activities. She was an active member of the Wyoming Chapter of the American Medical Association, serving as the President at the state level. Janet was a member of the Sheridan Library Board for years and volunteered many hours at Catholic Social Services.
Janet attended Sheridan Junior College and transferred to Denver University’s Women’s College, graduating in 1999. She catalogued many volumes at the St. John Vianney Theological Seminary, Denver, Colorado.
Janet loved her family, dogs, friends, reading, and traveling. She was also devoted to her faith.
She is survived by her sons, Cole (Jamie), Anchorage, AK, Barry, Las Vegas, NV, Ward, Colorado Springs, CO, Garrett, Sheridan, WY, seven grandchildren, a brother, Clayton (Dianne), a sister, Kristi (Rod) Marks, and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Karen, brother, Henry and sons, Paul and Sean.
Janet’s life will be celebrated at a memorial service on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 11:00 A. M. at Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheridan with Father Michael Ehiemere officiating. Inurnment will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Big Horn, Wyoming. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
