Powder Horn Club Championships

SHERIDAN – The Powder Horn Golf Community held its annual club championships Saturday and Sunday.

• MEN’S CHAMPION: Mike Schauer shot a two-day total of 75-73—148 to win the men’s title, three shots ahead of John Hull (151) and Paul Mavrakis (152.) Hull was declared the winner of the low gross, first flight prize; Mavrakis, first flight low net. Mike Nechvatal was the low net champion for the club title with a 74-74—148 tally. Second flight winner, low gross, was Anthony Spiegelberg with a 82-84—166 tally. The low net title was won by Dave Engels (153).

• BLUE FLIGHT: The low gross winner was Doug Hirschman with an 83-86—169 score. The low net winner was Monte Roma (149)

• WOMEN’S CHAMPION: Charlene Thomas recorded a two-day score of 87-88—175 to win the women’s title. Maureen Humphrys won second place for the women’s title (178) and was declared winner of the first flight, low gross. Kristen King was the low net champion with an adjusted total of 143. Mimi Gracida was the first flight low net winner with a 144 total.

LaDonna Bergman won the second flight with the low gross score of 201. Low net was Patty Sheldon.

• SENIOR’S CHAMPION: Phil Amundson won the men’s senior championship with a 75-80—155 total, three shots ahead of Mike Fry, 79-79—158. Fry was declared the first flight champion. Dan Sanders was the low net champion (70-65—135). Bob Cross (142) was first flight, low net winner; Tommy Boyle was second place, first flight, gross score with a 162. Second place net in the first flight was Gary Bergman (144).

Second flight low gross winner was Stephen Woody (167). Phil Watt was second, 173. John Baggett was low net champ (138). Stu Healy was second, 146. Third flight winner, low gross, was Bill Rohrbaugh (185). Low net champ was Bob Herman (147). Second place gross was a tie at 198 between Ed Hawkinson and Bruce Holwell. Second place, low net, went to Ron Mischke (150).
