Sheridan commissioners set zoning precedent
Date posted: August 6, 2013
Sheridan’s county commissioners held a special hearing during their regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday to clarify a regulation regarding what businesses are permissible under the county’s zoning regulations. The board ruled in favor of the applicant, who was previously denied permission by the public works office to run a U-Haul business on Fort Road. The decision will be used to set a precedent for similar zoning issues that may arise.
The board also worked through a heavy agenda and agreed to apply for grants for capital projects, establish the expansion of an existing gravel quarry, award a contract to re-roof the historic courthouse and made an official initiative to support the Sheridan College bond issue that will be put to vote Aug. 20.
