PHOTO: First day for Lady Generals soccer

Above: Sheridan College women’s soccer players watch a drill during the first ever practice for the college’s newest sport Monday afternoon on Maier Field at the college. The Sheridan College women open their season Saturday with a contest against Wyoming United, a club U18 team, at 4 p.m. on Maier Field. They’ll play another U18 team, the Casper Blades, Aug. 17 at home.

The Lady Generals now have six local players on the roster: Bailey Baker and Whitney Gifford join Stephany Sessions, Jacey Repsis, Celena Kelly, Macey Reid and Hartley Stewart.

The SC men’s soccer team, also in its first  year, begins practice Thursday and will play its first game Thursday Aug. 15, at Rocky Mountain College in Billings. Their home opener is set for Wednesday, Aug. 21 against Midwest Elite.
