SHERIDAN — Drew Adriaens was the lone Sheridan Trooper selected to the ‘AA’ All-State list for 2013.
Shortstop Connor McCafferty made second team for the second year in a row.
Adriaens, who plans to play baseball at Iowa Western Community College next year, was the Troopers strongest pitcher this season. He posted a 4-1 record over nine starts with a 2.91 ERA. He struck out 78 batters while walking 23. The All-State honor was the second of his Troopers career.
Playing in 48 games for Sheridan, Adriaens hit .319/.474/.556 with six home runs and 45 RBIs.
McCafferty, who will be a senior at Big Horn High School this fall, was Sheridan’s batting leader, hitting .410/.495/.590, with three home runs and 36 RBIs. He appeared in 13 games on the mound for Sheridan, mostly in relief. His ERA was 5.39.
Cheyenne Post 6 had the most first-team selections this year with four.
