Super 25 lead list of Sheridan County All-State selections

All-Conference football players, coaches of the year named From staff reports SHERIDAN — Big Horn High School head football coach Michael McGuire and Sheridan High School head football coach Don Julian were each named Coach of the Year in their respective conferences, and a handful of their players joined them on the All-Conference teams. After leading Big Horn to an undefeated regular season and regional championship, McGuire took the Rams back to the state championship game for a second straight season in only his third season at the helm. Even though the Rams lost in the title game it did not diminish what the team accomplished as nine Big Horn players were awarded All-Conference honors. Christian Mayer and Kerry Powers led the way for the Rams. Along with making All-Conference, Mayer was named 2A East Offensive Player of the Year, and Powers was named Defensive Player of the Year. Mayer and Powers were joined on the All-Conference team by teammates Mason Lube, Nolan McCafferty, Garrett Allen, Brice Beisher, Seth Kite, Ryan Kobielusz and Collin Powers. Ten Sheridan players were named All-Conference. Joe Shassetz led the charge for the Broncs, making All-Conference in three different positions: wide receiver, defensive back and a unanimous decision as kick-return specialist. Jess Edens joined Shassetz on special teams, making All-Conference as a unanimous decision for a kicking specialist and as a punter. Edens also made All-Conference as a defensive lineman. He was joined on the defensive All-Conference list by teammates Shassetz, Tory Music, Colbey Bruney, Kyle Bott, Dontae Crow and Dylan Daniels. Riley Session was unanimously named to the team as an at-large defender. To go along with Shassetz on offense, Music, Davis Alden, Blake Godwin and Evan Coon were also named to the All-Conference team. In 1A, five Tongue River players were named to the 1A East All-Conference team. Brennan Kutterer, Lane Dockery, Dillon Lyons, Mason Schroder and Pierce Jardine were awarded All-Conference honors.
