Live from The Met: Borodin’s ‘Prince Igor’

SHERIDAN — The WYO Theater will present “Live from The Met: Borodin’s ‘Prince Igor’” on Saturday at 10 a.m.

The performance is part of the series “The Metropolitan Opera: Live in High-Definition” which transmits opera performances to movie theaters and other venues around the world as part of The Metropolitan Opera’s efforts to reinvigorate opera and reach out to a broader public.

The program allows audiences to experience the production at the same time as the audience in New York.

“Prince Igor” is a Russian epic famous for its Polovtsian dances and hasn’t been to the Met in nearly 100 years. Star bass-baritone Ildar Abdrazakov takes on the title role with Gianandrea Noseda conducting.

Tickets are $18 for adults and $9 for students. Tickets may be purchased online at, on the phone at 672-9084 extension 100 or in person at the box office, which is located inside the theater at 42 N. Main St.
