SHERIDAN — The annual Christmas Stroll will take place Nov. 24 beginning at 4 p.m. in downtown Sheridan.

This year’s theme is “Star of Wonder.”

Earlier this month, the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce announced the winner of the annual Christmas Stroll button design contest. Mallorie Akers, a fourth-grader at Sagebrush Elementary, was named the winner.

Stroll buttons each have a unique number and are purchased by the public, who begin wearing them at the Christmas Stroll.

While shopping during Christmas Stroll and throughout the holiday season, button wearers look in participating businesses for the number that matches their button. Those with matching numbers win a prize from the store valued at $50 or more. In addition, during the four Saturdays in December before Christmas, shoppers can “get caught shopping” in participating businesses while wearing their Stroll button. Those who “get caught” can win Chamber Bucks in amounts from $25 to $250.

Stroll buttons are available for purchase while supplies last at the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce, 171 N. Main St. and at participating businesses.  The cost is $5 per button.

The Christmas Stroll will feature shopping, a stroll button match search, giveaways, live entertainment, a lighting and decorating contest, refreshments, Santa Claus visits and more.
