SHERIDAN — Science Kids is offering a “Birds of a Feather” class July 29-30 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. each day.

Jacelyn and Dustin Downey, Audubon naturalists, will use birds as the focal point for children to explore the many local animals and their behaviors and habitats.

The class will learn about bird nesting by examining bird specimens, eggs and nests, as well as bird adaptations and migration through hands-on activities.

Become familiar with the concept of “indicator species” — the presence or disappearance of a particular bird species as an indication of the condition and health of a habitat.

This class is for children ages 6-10.

Dress appropriately for outdoor activities and bring a snack, lunch, water bottle, hat and sunscreen.

The cost is $65 and all materials will be provided. See www.science-kids.org for more information or to register.
