Green House Living celebrates 5-star rating

SHERIDAN — The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services recently awarded Green House Living a 5-star rating.

Green House Living’s 5-Star ranking includes 5-stars for Quality Measures, RN Staffing and Overall Staffing. In January 2018, Green House Living also had a health survey with only three minor deficiencies — none related to patient care.

“We are elated to get this ranking, which is awarded to the top 10 percent of nursing homes in each state,” said Dee Strauss, Green House Living administrator. “This award signifies that Green House staff consistently delivers high quality care to our elders. It is the direct result of hard work of our dedicated staff, volunteers and board members. This is a proud day for Green House Living.”

To celebrate, Green House Living will be hosting an open house Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at Luminous Brewhouse. Stop by to meet the Green House Living staff and enjoy refreshments.

CMS created the Five-Star Quality Rating System to help consumers, their families and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily and to help identify areas about which they may want to ask questions. The Nursing Home Compare website features a quality rating system that gives each nursing home an overall rating of between one and five stars.

In addition to the overall star rating, CMS awards a separate rating for each of the following areas: health inspections, staffing — including RN and overall staffing — and quality measures. The health inspection rating contains information from the last three years of onsite inspections, including both standard surveys and any complaint surveys. The most recent survey findings are weighted more than the prior two years.
