SHERIDAN — A former Big Horn High School student Cody Johnson has signed to play for Loyola University basketball in Chicago.

Johnson, who played at Western Nebraska University in Scottsbluff, Neb., last year where he averaged 13 points and eight rebounds, will have three remaining years of eligibility at the school, one of the Missouri Valley Conference’s newest additions.

“Cody brings us some skill and size,” Loyola coach Porter Moser told the school’s website. “He has the size to defend a five-man but also can stretch a defense with his shooting ability. Cody is a high-character individual who fits the academic profile for Loyola.”

Johnson is listed as a 6-foot 10-inch 245-pound center.

He is the son of Dave and Kate Marton Johnson and the grandson of Charles and Pat Marton of Buffalo.
