SHERIDAN — Sheridan College got off to a slow start Wednesday at Western Nebraska and never recovered as the Lady Cougars ran away with an 85-56 victory. The loss ended the Lady Generals’ modest two-game winning streak and dropped them to 3-6 on the season.
Raelynn Keefer paced Sheridan with 20 points on 6 of 15 shooting with three rebounds and two assists. Ashleigh Frampton added 13 points and four rebounds, but no other Lady General scored more than six points.
SC shot just 35.4 percent (17 for 48) from the floor and committed 14 turnovers while having just 12 assists.
Western Nebraska, on the other hand, connected on 47 percent (31 of 66) of its field-goal attempts and shot an even crisper 47.4 percent (9-for-19) from 3-point land.
The Lady Cougars led 15-8 at the end of the first quarter en route to building a 36-23 halftime advantage. Western Nebraska put any unease to bed in the third frame as it outscored the Lady Generals 27-14 to take a commanding lead into the final 10 minutes.
Sheridan College gets back in action Dec. 8 at Williston State, a team the Lady Generals defeated soundly 94-46 this past weekend.
