SHERIDAN — Earlier this fall, The Sheridan Press asked area residents if they knew any rockstars in the Sheridan area that could use a little recognition and the outpouring of support was inspiring. The Sheridan Press received dozens of suggestions of young professionals making a difference in our community.
The median age in Sheridan County is nearly 42 years old. Members of the mature generations are often recognized for their service and dedication to the Sheridan community — and rightfully so. On the other end of the spectrum, the 22 percent of the population that is under 18 years of age and still in school often grace the pages of The Sheridan Press with their many accomplishments. But what about those community members in between?
The “20 Under Forty” feature allows all of us to recognize 20 individuals in Sheridan County between the ages of 18 and 40 who are positively influencing our community.
Last year, the 20 individuals covered a broad spectrum of difference-makers in the area — teachers, nonprofit leaders, business professionals and more. This year’s winners include public servants, volunteers and coaches who have made the lives of many in our community better.
