Inge Sophia Goller (Sturgeon) Vrooman went to be with The Lord on the 5th of May 2013. She was 85 years young and was born in Munich, Germany (Bavaria) on the 1st of June 1927. She passed away in Littleton, Colorado from natural causes.
Inge was full of life and spent her first years in Germany until 1951. She met her first husband Eugene R. Sturgeon in Murnau, Germany after World War II. She was a telephone switchboard operator and spoke several languages including English, French, Latin and her native tongue of German. She fell in love and decided to leave her native country and immigrate to the United States where she past through Ellis Island as so many had done before.
She married on October 3, 1951 in Thermopolis, Wyoming where her husband worked as a driller in the oilfield. Her new home was Hamilton Dome, Wyoming.
She had two children, John and Alan. The family then moved to Libya for several years and then returned to Cody Wyoming in 1965 after an accident which caused total hearing loss. Inge resided in Wyoming until 2009 after her second husband passed, Gordon Vrooman (married 38 years) in June of 2008.
Inge then moved to Littleton, Colorado until her passing. Inge had a very amiable character, quick wit, intelligent mind and christian virtues that made her a great mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, wife and friend. Even so she couldn’t hear in the traditional sense she could listen to life and understand all that was going on around her. She truly had a warm and caring heart.
Inge is preceeded in passing by her first husband Eugene R. Sturgeon, second husband Gordon Vrooman, parents August and Rosa Goller, sister Gerda Giacomini.
She is survived by her first son John Sturgeon and his wife Jan, grandsons Jason and Jeremy (wife Haley) and great grandson Owen Sturgeon. Her second son Alan Vrooman and wife Julie, grand daughter Bridget Vrooman Elsemore (husband Ryan), great grandaughters Sophie and Stella Elsemore, and grandson Ryan Vrooman. Inge also has two surviving sisters, Karin Boltz of Cody, Wyoming and Uta Harrington of California along with many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the Three Trees Chapel in LIttleton, Colorado on May 10, 2013 at 4 pm.
