SHERIDAN — Former Sheridan resident and Sheridan High School graduate John Griffith has been named the Wyoming Assistant Principal of the Year by the National Association of School Administrators.

 Griffith graduated from SHS in 1998. He is currently the assistant principal at Riverton High School.

 As part of his recognition, Griffith will travel with his wife to Washington, D.C., in April to attend a formal dinner with President Barack Obama and winners of the award from all 50 states.

 Griffith’s mother is Rosemary Brown of Sheridan.
