SHERIDAN — The Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library is featuring two art exhibits throughout the month of August.

In the Inner Circle, local artist Daniel Granger will have his first public exhibit. Granger experiments in several mediums, including ink, fountain pen, pencil drawings, acrylic paint and wax.

An artist reception for Granger will be held in the Inner Circle from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday.

On the mezzanine, Charlotte Mehmke will display an exhibit titled “Women’s History: Founding Mothers.”

Mehmke has sewn and hand stitched several women’s dresses representing various periods of American history. The dresses range from gowns to simple dresses that would have been worn by female slaves.

“I am interested in women’s history and started making gowns to make a living history traveling display for others to enjoy,” Mehmke said in a press release from the library. “I want women to become more aware of the role women have in history.”

Both exhibits will remain on display through the month of August.

The library is located at 335 W. Alger St.
