SHERIDAN — It’s officially time to get back into the swing of things for fall sports athletes at Sheridan High School. SHS Activities Director Don Julian said those participating or interested in fall sports should be aware of the following information.

Football — The season officially kicks off on Aug. 9, with player/parent meeting at 4 p.m. in the SHS auditorium. The first practice will begin Aug. 11. Players in grades 10-12 will have two practices, a morning session at 7 a.m. and an evening session at 4:30 p.m.

Ninth-graders will have a morning practice at 7 a.m.

All other sports start practice on the following Monday, Aug. 18, as follows.

Volleyball — Monday at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at SHS gym. Tuesday through Friday at 6 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Cross country — Monday at 6:30 a.m. at SHS and 4 p.m. at SJHS swimming pool.

Girls swimming and diving — Monday at 7 a.m. at SJHS swimming pool.

Girls and boys tennis — Monday at 4 p.m. at SHS tennis courts

Boys and girls golf — Monday at 10 a.m. at Kendrick Golf Course

There will be an SHS booster club picnic Aug. 20 starting at 5:30 p.m., followed by a parent meeting for volleyball, girls swimming, golf, tennis, and cross country at 7 p.m. in the SHS auditorium.

All student-athletes must have a physical on file dated after May 1, 2014, in order to practice.
