SHERIDAN — Tennis weather has arrived, and the University of Wyoming will be holding a tennis camp in Sheridan June 2-6 at the SHS tennis courts.

The camp is open to all boys and girls ages 7-18, no matter their skill level. The purpose of the camp is to provide youth with the opportunity to acquire, develop and improve their tennis skills with an emphasis on good technique, strategy, motivation and fun.

The camp will also offer on-court coaching during match play to help participants better understand how to construct points and how to play every point with a purpose.

Camp days begin at 9 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. with an hour-long lunch break. Campers should bring their own lunch.

Cost is $225 per camper. There is a discount for additional family members or those who attend other UW tennis camps this summer.

For those players who cannot attend during the day, there will be abbreviated sessions in the evenings from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on June 2-5. Cost is $20 per person per session. Advanced registration is not required but helpful. Notify SHS head tennis coach Bob Faurot if you plan to attend.

For adult players who want to improve their tennis game or kick start their summer season play, UW will be offering evening drill classes June 2-5 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the SHS tennis courts. Attend one or all for $20 per person, per session. Emphasis will be on stroke production and doubles strategy.
