SHERIDAN — Cheyenne East 6-foot forward Shayne Carter has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her basketball career and education at Sheridan College this fall.

Carter came back from some injuries in the first half of the season and carried the Cheyenne Thunderbirds to the state championship game against Natrona.

“Carter is a great addition to our team,” Sheridan College Lady Generals head coach Frank McCarthy said. “She is another big piece of building our team for next year. She is a very agile post player that can run, score and rebound.”

Carter joins a strong Wyoming recruiting class of Sarah Rawlings of Tongue River and Shayna Kretschman of Arvada-Clearmont.

Carter was selected to play in the Montana-Wyoming All-Star game June 13 and 14.

The Lady Generals won the North-sub region 11 of past 13 years and won 19 games this past season.
