SHERIDAN — Tickets for the second annual FAB (For. About. By.) Women’s Conference will go on sale Monday on The Sheridan Press website.

This year’s event will take place Sept. 26-27 at Sheridan College.

On the evening of Sept. 26, the FAB Woman of the Year banquet will recognize nominees for this year’s top honor. Nomination forms will also be available online Monday and will be accepted through Sept. 5. Last year’s FAB Woman of the Year, Erin Kilbride, will give the keynote address at the banquet. The cost to attend will be $30 and will include dinner.

On Saturday, the FAB Women’s Conference will take over the Edward A. Whitney Academic Center at the college. The day will begin with a light breakfast and an opportunity to peruse vendor booths before kickoff speaker Elke Govertsen welcomes attendees.

Govertsen is the founder and editor of Mamalode — an online and print parenting publication. She has been featured in Real Simple, Where Women Create, 406 Woman, Ad Tech and Entrepreneur. She speaks on a variety of topics, from social media to overcoming poverty. She also leads the Learn As You Go lecture series for small businesses and is passionate about economic development in Montana.

She has said her special skills include extreme bootstrapping, overcoming obstacles and creating opportunities.

Following Govertsen’s welcome, participants will join a number of sessions on topics ranging from “Doing it all… or not,” to personal investment and how to navigate raising teenagers.

During the conference lunch, attendees will again have an opportunity to peruse vendor booths. In addition, keynote speaker Stephanie Armstrong will address the crowd.

Armstrong is the founder of Heart of Leadership, a San Diego-based movement to support young women in leadership through personal development, holistic wellness, community service and sisterhood. Armstrong has spoken to more than 80,000 middle and high school students, parents, school administrators, counselors and therapists in the U.S., Canada and Asia on body image, self-esteem, media literacy and making a difference.

Her keynote address, “It’s Up to Us,” will focus on the power of girls and women working together to support one another.

“When we choose collaboration over competition, a whole new power and future is available to all of us,” Armstrong says.

After lunch, additional smaller sessions will be held with local and regional speakers before the day wraps up with a social hour in the Whitney Center atrium.

Tickets for the conference portion of the event will be sold online for $50 and will include breakfast and lunch.

This year, the FAB committee is also working to ensure child care will be offered during the conference. Details are still being worked out, but the cost will be $30 for the day, which will include lunch and snacks. Pre-registration and pre-payment for child care will be required. Additional details will be announced at a later date.

If you plan to attend both the banquet and the conference, tickets for both are available at a total discounted price of $75.
