SHERIDAN — Sheridan’s first local roller derby league, the Bomber Mountain Derby Devils, is hosting a recruitment meet and greet event on Wednesday for the newly formed women’s team.

Commencing at 6 p.m. at the Big Horn Mountain Eagles #4169, refreshments will be served and attendees will learn more about roller derby including participation requirements.

The women’s team is open to all Sheridan area women ages 18 or older of any ability level. No experience is necessary. Younger teens wishing to train for the sport may attend the meeting and participate in team practices but cannot compete until age 18.

The league, which will soon be a nonprofit entity, plans to offer youth and men’s teams in the future and boasts that this will not only offer new activities and family entertainment options to the people of Sheridan County but will also support local businesses as teams and fans from other areas visit Sheridan for competitions.
