SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Police arrested a woman on an outstanding warrant Wednesday after she accidentally called 911 from her cellphone.

Robyn Kapperman, 42, was released from custody the same day after posting a $360 bond.

SPD Sgt. Travis Koltiska said Kapperman identified herself to police dispatchers and admitted her phone had dialed the emergency line accidentally. She also gave her location.

A quick background check revealed the warrant, and police were sent to the location to make the arrest.

Kapperman was issued a ticket for failure to show proof of vehicle insurance Sept. 1, and later missed her court date, which resulted in the issuance of the warrant.

Koltiska said 911 hangup calls are a common occurrence, but that each misdial is investigated to ensure the caller isn’t in trouble.
