SHERIDAN — The Sheridan College men’s basketball team suffered its second consecutive buzzer-beater loss, falling at the hands of the conference’s last-place team, Little Big Horn College, Saturday night.

At Crow Agency, Mont., Little Big Horn’s Marty Wallace hit a shot to earn a 91-89 victory over second-place Sheridan. Before Saturday, Little Big Horn (10-13, 2-7 North Sub-Region IX) was the bottom team in North Sub-Region IX, a place now held by Dawson.

The Generals trailed 52-35 after the first half, falling despite a 54-39 second half advantage in a game that featured 15 lead changes and 10 ties. The loss was the second for the Generals, who fell on a last-second 3 to Central Wyoming on Wednesday in Sheridan.

Abednego Lufile finished with 23 points and nine rebounds, Fred Dure and Iakeem Alston had 14 points and Preston Wells had 12.

Much like Wednesday when the Generals shot 40 percent in the loss, they struggled from the field Saturday going 28 of 70 (35 percent). SC was just four of 24 from 3 (16 percent).

Sheridan (18-5, 6-3) returns home Wednesday for a rematch against third-from-bottom Western Wyoming (9-12, 3-6) at 7 p.m. Sheridan beat Western before break, 84-70, in Rock Springs. On Saturday, they host conference-leader Gillette and the Pronghorns 18-game win streak. Gillette topped SC 113-88 on Dec. 7.

The Lady Generals (15-7, 5-4) host conference leader Western Wyoming (18-4, 7-1) on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., and then Gillette on Saturday afternoon.

Both teams defeated the Lady Generals before break.
