Broncs 77, Rock Springs 66
SHERIDAN — Sheridan trailed early, fell behind by 11 in the fourth quarter but avoided their second straight loss with an impressive 77-66 comeback victory at the Flaming Gorge Classic Friday at Rock Springs.
Reed Ritterbusch paced Sheridan (5-1) with 13 at halftime, finishing with 27 points.

Down by 11 with five minutes left, two 3s from Blake Godwin and another from Ritterbusch put the Broncs within two after Dylan Daniels sat down with four fouls. Ritterbusch hit another 3 to tie things up at 62 with three minutes left, and Cody Williams free throws gave Sheridan the lead 64-62 with 2:45 to go. Sheridan extended its lead to 10 from there, completing a 36-point fourth quarter.

“The first three quarters we shot ourselves in the foot, our defense was tough, we got stops but we had too many turnovers on offense,” head coach Gale Smith said.

Sheridan turned things around with full court press, wearing down Rock Springs. After suffering their first loss of the year on the road Thursday, he was pleased with the way the kids bounced back Friday night.

“The energy just wasn’t there (Thursday night),” he said. “Our routine was messed up a little bit and that was on me. We used that as a learning lesson and came out with good energy today, things just weren’t going our way. We finally got things going and the kids did a great job of sealing the deal tonight.”

Sheridan caps the tournament early today, playing at 8:30 a.m. against Roosevelt, Utah.

Scoring: Dylan Daniels 14, Judson White 9, Blake Godwin 6. Tyler Kaufmann 9, Cody Williams 8.
