SHERIDAN — On Saturday, The Sheridan Press will distribute its latest enterprise reporting project, featuring in-depth reporting on the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.
For several months, the news staff has been researching the ACA and interviewing business owners, organizations and individuals to explore how implementation of this law will play out locally in the Sheridan area.
The report includes helpful information and resources for consumers, a fact check page about myths and misstatements concerning the law, interviews with our locally-elected representatives about their take on the law, interviews with local medical providers and much more.
The section is meant to help Sheridan residents understand more fully what kind of impacts the federal health care law will have on them.
With discussion of the ACA dominating national media and talk shows, The Press endeavored to investigate and report on the local impact the law might have, both positive and negative, by talking with the people who will be most affected by it.
“This is obviously a huge topic that is talked about in news, politics and at coffee shops and workplace water coolers nearly every day,” Sheridan Press managing editor Kristen Czaban said. “It is a topic we felt was important to our readers and we hope the section clarifies parts of the law and provides some context from local experts on what impacts it will hold for us.”
The report will be included in Saturday’s newspaper and copies will also be available at The Sheridan Press office and online at thesheridanpress.com.
