SHERIDAN — The Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliary #1560 will hold a Buddy Poppy drive at three locations on Saturday.

Buddy Poppies are artificial flowers which have symbolized the blood shed by service members since the VFW registered the name with the U.S. Patent Office in 1924.

The poppy flowers are assembled by disabled, needy or aging veterans at Veterans Affairs rehabilitation centers and the majority of the proceeds are retained locally for veteran services and welfare.

The distribution will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Walmart, Kmart and Warehouse Market in honor of Veteran’s Day.

The Walmart is located at 1695 Coffeen Ave.

The Kmart is located at 2571 N. Main St.

The Warehouse Market is located at 1062 E. Brundage Ln.
