Nola Kolos, 59, of Sheridan, passed away peacefully, much too soon, on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at her residence, with family by her side.
Nola was born December 9, 1953 in Sheridan, WY to Mable (Masters) and Norman Novakovich. She attended and graduated school from the surrounding communities of Ranchester and Dayton before moving to Billings, MT.
There, Nola attended Billings Business College and returned home to start her long career with the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office. During Nola’s 38 years of service with the Sheriff’s Office, she met her soon to be husband, John Kolos. Once the two laid eyes on each other they never looked away and married on June 30, 1984. Nola and John have two children, Anthony and Dillon, who were both her caregiver until her passing.
Nola had many hobbies and passions including gardening, canning, her love of flowers, and bird watching with her uncle “Knocker,” they knew their birds! She also loved looking for wildlife, especially elk during the calving months.
Nola was preceded in death by her parents Norman and Mable, and sisters, Bobbi and Betty. She is survived by her husband, John, sons, Anthony and Dillon, and her extended family.
A Celebration of Nola’s Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Kane Funeral Home with Father Jim Heiser officiating. A Reception will follow the service at John and Nola’s Home.
