BIG HORN — The Rams are taking a page out of big time college basketball’s book as they begin their 2013 football season.

Due to teacher meetings Monday morning, the Rams will open practice Monday at 12 a.m. with a “Midnight Madness” event, holding a second two-a-day at 4:30 that afternoon.

Natrona County football did something similar last week to open their two-a-days, and Rams coach Michael McGuire said he’s  used the event before when he coached at Riverside.

“It would be hard for us to fit a decent practice in that morning, and it brings a little excitement for us,” he said.

Big Horn opens at home with a zero week game against Greybull Aug. 30. The Rams enter a wide open 2A field in 2013. They were 10-1 last season, with a loss in the state semis as their only defeat. Big Horn graduated eight of its 11 All-Conference selections and four of its five All-Staters, returning All-State QB Connor McCafferty.

Remaining fall sports practices begin Monday.
