LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming Game and Fish Warden Bill Haley believes that educating young people can help in limiting poaching incidents.
Haley recently distributed posters in Laramie with graphic images from two poaching incidents accompanied by information about the penalties in each case.
He tells the Laramie Boomerang that he hopes to keep college students and others from out of town from getting in trouble and save some wildlife.
Both incidents on the poster involved WyoTech students.
Those involved were convicted of wanton destruction for killing a mule deer doe out of season, without a license at night on a road with an illegal weapon.
They were fined $1,000 each.
